Proposed route

Is the proposed route the final route?

While a proposed route has been identified and will be included in the EES, it is important to note that the route for the Western Renewables Link will not be finalised until the Minister for Planning completes the Minister’s assessment of the EES and we address any matters raised by the Minister.

While we are currently finalising the Environment Effects Statement, we are continuing to listen to landholder and community feedback on the proposed route and make updates to the proposed route, tower and access track locations in response to their input and technical specialist advice.

The Department of Transport and Planning will review the EES submission to ensure the draft EES addresses the scoping requirements before it is released for the public to view and comment on. We expect the public exhibition and the EES inquiry, which includes a public hearing, will take place throughout 2025. The Minister’s assessment will be made after the exhibition and hearing process is complete.

More information is available in the Updated Proposed Route overview August 2024.
