What is the project timeline?

We are in the planning, design and approvals stage of the project. We are currently finalising the Environment Effects Statement (EES) for the project, as required by the Victorian Government.

When we believe we have completed an EES package that adequately addresses the Minister’s scoping requirements and the comments provided progressively through the technical reference group, we will submit the package to the Minister seeking authorisation to exhibit. We are working toward the EES public exhibition and inquiry, which includes a public hearing, taking place throughout 2025.

Further information about how to make a submission on the Western Renewables Link Environment Effects Statement is available on the Planning Panels website: www.planningpanels.vic.gov.au/guides-and-resources/how-to-make-a-submission.

The proposed project requires both Victorian and Commonwealth Government approvals before construction.

More information is available in the Environment Effects Statement fact sheet.
