AusNet roadside surveys March – April 2025

Throughout March and April 2025, AusNet will be conducting Aboriginal cultural heritage surveys within public roadsides on Swans Road, Darley from the week commencing 31 March 2025.

Aboriginal cultural heritage surveys will be carried out along roadsides to identify any evidence of heritage, assess its presence, and determine its extent, nature, and significance. These surveys will involve digging small holes, typically 1m x 1m in roadside areas to examine the ground where the proposed Western Renewables Link easement crosses over distribution powerlines. The findings will be used to assess the potential impacts to Aboriginal cultural heritage within and surrounding the proposed route and ensure appropriate measures are taken to protect it. The surveys are expected to be completed within three days, with AusNet providing traffic management to ensure the safety of the survey team and local community.

AusNet will send email and SMS notifications to nearby landholders where we have their contact details. If you have land along the proposed route and want to register your contact details, please contact us via 1800 975 975 or info@westernrenewableslink.com.au.
