As part of the project’s commitment to supporting local communities and businesses, we are pleased to announce that we have launched an online Local business register.
This new initiative will enable a wide variety of local businesses to register their expression of interest in working with us by providing details of their services via our Business register form.
We will be seeking the services of a range of businesses and industries to facilitate the development of the proposed 190km transmission line, which will include the construction of approximately 440 500kV transmission towers and about 150km of access tracks for construction and maintenance.
Services and resources required will include materials and equipment supply, general trades, construction, administration, catering and accommodation, plus many more throughout delivery of the project. We welcome local businesses, social enterprises, and institutional providers. All applications will be considered and are strictly confidential.
We are aiming to identify local businesses and develop mutually beneficial partnerships along the entire proposed route for the Western Renewables Link project, which in turn will support local communities, jobs and training.
We have also published three new fact sheets, providing information for landholders, the community and stakeholders.
The Environment Effects Statement fact sheet provides information about the Environment Effects Statement process for the proposed Western Renewables Link project, as well as providing links to further information about planning processes in Victoria.
The Draft Planning Scheme Amendment fact sheet provides information about the proposed primary planning approval process for the Western Renewables Link, which is a planning scheme amendment.
The Terminal Stations fact sheet provides information about the proposed terminal station works for the Western Renewables Link, including new works near the existing Bulgana Terminal Station and a connection to the Sydenham Terminal Station.
The fact sheets are available now in the Resources section of the Western Renewables Link website.
